Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about 01 Founders London

About the Programme

What exactly is 01 Founders?

01 Founders is a tuition-free, peer-to-peer coding school based on the revolutionary 01 Edu pedagogy. You learn by building real projects, reviewing peers' code, and solving problems collaboratively no lectures or teachers.

How long is the programme?

The programme (which we call the Fellowship) is 24 months. You'll commit 30-40 hours per week, with Monday, Wednesday & Friday mandatory on campus. Remaining hours can be completed remotely via our tracker platform.

What happens after I complete the programme?

You graduate with a portfolio of 65+ deployed applications, industry-recognised skills, and direct connections to our hiring partners. Many graduates secure developer roles within weeks of completing the programme.

Is this a university degree?

No. 01 Founders is not a university and does not award degrees. However, our curriculum covers skills equivalent to a Computer Science foundation. You gain real-world skills, a professional portfolio, and proven ability to build software, which employers value more than credentials.

Application Process

What are the eligibility requirements?

You need to be 19+ years old and able to commit 30-40 hours per week for 24 months (Monday, Wednesday & Friday on campus, rest remote). No coding experience, CV, degree, or entrance exam needed.

What are the cognitive games?

Online games testing memory, logic, and problem-solving ability. They measure your capacity to learn, not what you already know. You play from home over 2-3 hours during the application window (16th-22nd December 2025).

What if I fail the cognitive games?

You can reapply for the next cohort (typically 3 months later). Many successful students applied twice. Failure is part of learning, we respect persistence.

How many students are accepted per cohort?

We accept a maximum of 40 students per cohort to maintain quality peer-learning dynamics. Apply early, the application deadline is 15th December 2025.

Financials & Logistics

Is the programme really 100% free?

Yes. No tuition fees, ever. No hidden costs, no deferred payment schemes. 01 Founders is funded by our hiring partners who value the skills you gain. You only cover your own living expenses during the 24 months.

Can I work while studying?

The programme needs 30-40 hours per week, with Monday, Wednesday & Friday on campus. Remote work on other days gives flexibility, but part-time jobs are still challenging. Most students focus full-time on the programme.

Do I need my own laptop?

It is recommended to have your own laptop with minimum specs: 8GB RAM, modern processor (Intel i5/AMD Ryzen 5 or better), and ability to run development tools. Any OS (macOS, Linux, Windows) works. However, 01 Founders can provide a laptop if needed.

Is there financial support available?

The programme itself is free, but we do not provide living stipends. You are responsible for your own accommodation, food, and transport during the 24-month period. Equipment (laptops) can be provided by 01 Founders if needed.

Learning & Campus

What is peer-to-peer learning?

You learn by doing projects and reviewing peers' code. No teachers, no lectures. You debug together, explain concepts to each other, and solve problems collaboratively, just like real development teams.

What if I get stuck on a project?

You collaborate with peers, search documentation, experiment, and iterate. Struggle is intentional, it builds problem-solving skills. Senior students and staff provide guidance when you're truly blocked, but won't give you answers.

What are the campus hours?

Campus is open 8am-11pm daily. The programme needs 30-40 hours per week, with Monday, Wednesday & Friday mandatory on campus. The rest of your hours can be completed remotely, tracked via our progress platform.

Where is the campus located?

01 Founders London is at Longford St, London NW1 3HB, near Regents Park and Great Portland Street stations. Open 8am-11pm daily.
